White Bear Photonics is a distbutor for three main companies; Ocean Optics, Sand House Design, and SpectrEcology. White Bear also sells used spectrometers for people who are looking for a less expensive option.

Ocean Optics

White Bear Photonics is a distributor for Ocean Optics, the first company to develop a low cost fiber optic UV-VIS-NIR miniature spectrometer system for a wide range of new applications. We carry a number of pre-configured Ocean Optics spectrometers and systems that have applications ranging from fluorescence, absorption, Raman, to oxygen sensing. In addition, if there are unique applications, we can configure complete systems to accommodate the sample type and the environment from which the data is taken. Applications for these systems range from consumer electronics, process control, environmental monitoring, and life sciences to medical diagnostics.

SpectrEcology

As a distributor for SpectrEcology, we offer a large range of LED components ranging from UV applications to Marine lighting plus. LEDs are offered as individual components or high power modules that can be integrated to variety of applications such as remote sensing, spectroscopy, and fluorescence. A large variety of cuvettes are offered that can accommodate liquid sample sizes with short path lengths (micro fluidic), UV applications (quartz), low cost disposable, and smart cuvettes for PH applications.

Shadow-Caster

As a distributor for Shadow-Caster we offer new solutions to underwater LED lighting. Underwater LED light has distinct advantages over conventioal incandenscent lighting in terms of size, power consumption, safety (low voltage), and ruggedness to withstand shock. While LED lighting offered is primarily used for salt water marine applications (on boats), it can also be used in other applications including pools, docks, landscapping (e.g., ponds), and archetecture (e.g., fountains).

Used Spectrometers

White Bear Photonics carries an inventory of used Thermo spectrometers models. These models range from the simple low cost industry standards such as the Spectronic 20D+ to the advanced dual beam Evolution 300 series. For biological applications, there are used Biomate 3 and 5 models that contain internal software for DNA/protein analysis, oligos, and other absorbance ratio measurements. The wavelength ranges from the deep UV (190 nm) to NIR (1100 nm), for both dual and single beam systems. With exception to the Spectronic 20, the Thermo spectrometers are self-calibrating during startup, contain internal performance checks, and can be integrated with PCs for data logging.
